  • Brent Stirton 5/26/06
Description: photojournalism plus sport, travel, and portrait photography
Comments: The latest project, Dubai Labour Issues, in addition to a number of phenomenal photographs, includes in-depth background information on the country's "massively exploited million man work-force." An eye-opener for sure and there's dozens of other projects to explore here. And Shirton's Sport, Travel, and Portraits sections are extraordinary too.

  • Neverends.net 5/19/06
Description: dark vs. fantasy - in digital paintings and photographs (some mature content)
Comments: "This is not a dream. This is my world." Diane's dark art explores cohabiting opposites (such as life/dead or real/virtual) using images to, in effect, rebuild or resurrect reality. In humans, Diane see phantoms – in abandoned places, graphical riches and emotion. Montages. Photos (including Lomos. Digital paintings. An astounding collection of very personal art.

  • jamie.campbell.photography 5/16/06
Description: "when he grows up, he wants to be a photographer"
Comments: I'm here to say "I [definitely don't] hate jamie campbell's photography." In fact, even though I'm not crazy about the site's design, the creative content is simply too good to pass up. Besides some excellent portraits among Jamie's human beings and the more staged untitled fabrication series, there's a work in progress titled beasts of burden I find most amusing. Jamie recently earned a BFA and if this collection of creative, sometimes humorous works are any indication, he's gonna be quite a photographer... when "he grows up," that is.

  • nfctd 5/8/06
    Description: interactive collage animation (Flash)
Comments: Today's pick will take a little patience on your part, but if you like collage and motion and you're curious enough to explore each phase of the animation with your mouse, you'll be pleasantly rewarded. Cool soundtrack too...

  • jean-pierre hébert 5/4/06
Description: algorithmic art - drawings and mixed media since the 70s
Comments: "In 1979 Hébert pioneered the creation of drawings based on original code and computer-driven devices..." according to this published bio. An artist, or more precisely, an algorist, Jean-Pierre says "The self-emergence of the drawing on the paper resulting from the mental vision is always a magically rewarding and fascinating performance..." Enjoy his art!

  • gorin-images.com 5/3/06
Description: photoblog featuring abstract and creative works, plus nature and people photos
Comments: An image ranked #1 in a Closed contest inspires me anew each time I look at it. An apparently abandoned, decaying warehouse – an amazing photograph in my opinion. "I now shoot many more 'artistic' photographs than 'work' photographs," says Jarrett, whose Abstract & Creative category is my favorite (though he certainly has a knack for people too). "I hope that you enjoy the images that I post here!" I did, thank you...;~))
