  • firetricks 11/30/06
    Description: 'vegetal invocation' (Flash)
Comments: Axel calls it vegetal and if you explore, you'll find your way to each of its various organic artworks. Superb illustrations with hypnotic motion and sound – I love it! There's also several sidetracks from the main page to other astonishing firetricks...

  • Unremitting Failure 11/26/06
Description: pointless expostulations on the utter futility of everything
Comments: "Our life has been a crabwise series of lateral movements from failure to futility, punctuated by the occasional disaster." Where else can you find a post wherein the author hands out a (well-deserved) "I'm not going to let my own stupidity stand in the way of my god-given right to be an idiot!" award? And though recently a victim of incipient nutballism, he keeps dishing out the sardonic humor that keeps me coming back. Funny and intelligent at the same time – failure is surely underrated...;~))

  • graph drome 11/22/06
Description: graphic design and illustration (some mature content)
Comments: Besides illustrations done for a number of magazines and posters, A.J. also showcases samples of type design (check out "hyper type" – amazing), plus 7 of his own graphic design "zines."

  • A Daily Photoessay 11/21/06
Description: photographs, particularly of the daily grind
Comments: Hoping to "see something extraordinary in the ordinary," George says he "must make photographs, particularly of the daily grind..." This is certainly no ordinary moment. Nor is a beautiful sky at any given point in time. Kilroy was here. "There are no ordinary moments." Exactly...

  • Steven Brahms 11/19/06
    Description: photography (Flash)
Comments: "Society places people with disabilities into the margins of our culture" and somewhere between the authoritarian vs. benevolent approaches to treating these individuals comes a greater understanding. As the photos in Lion on the Wall show, these individuals are really quite normal. That's just one of Steven's series of thoughtful photographs – a "realistic and intimate glimpse at the everyday lives of people."

  • HOME is where my HEART is 11/18/06
    Description: photographs by Nicole Kengyel
Comments: Be prepared to use your browser's [back] button and horizontal scrollbar – but get ready to explore a uniquely organized collection of superb photographs from the heart...

  • snap•it•up 11/14/06
Description: Hamburg-based photoblog of Michael H. Heng
Comments: Michael's been shooting with film for many years and after being away from photography for a while, got back into it a few years ago, creating the photoblog. He now shoots with a digital SLR camera and his collection is full of astonishingly colorful snaps – some beautiful compositions...
